Cadbury Nigeria Returns to Profitability , Declares N8.5 Billion Q1 Profit on Strong Domestic Sales

Cadbury Nigeria Plc has recorded a strong recovery in its financial performance, posting a profit of N8.5 billion for the first quarter (Q1) of 2025, buoyed by increased domestic sales and improved operational strategies.

The company’s latest financial results show a remarkable turnaround compared to the same period last year when it faced significant challenges, including a loss after tax in 2024. Cadbury’s revenue grew substantially in the first three months of the year, driven by higher demand for its popular products such as Bournvita and 3-in-1 Hot Chocolate.

Despite a tough economic environment marked by high inflation and currency volatility, Cadbury Nigeria managed to increase its revenue and optimize its costs. The company’s focus on strengthening its core brands, expanding its distribution network, and responding to changing consumer needs has been key to its rebound.

Commenting on the results, Oyeyimika Adeboye, Managing Director of Cadbury Nigeria, expressed optimism about the company’s future. “We are pleased with our Q1 performance, which reflects our resilience and commitment to the Nigerian market. We will continue to evolve strategies to navigate the economic challenges and deliver value to our stakeholders,” she said.

This positive Q1 performance follows a difficult 2024, during which Cadbury Nigeria reported a N10.4 billion loss. However, strategic financial restructuring and strong domestic market performance have now positioned the company for sustained growth.

Analysts believe that with continued focus on innovation and operational efficiency, Cadbury Nigeria is well-placed to consolidate its gains throughout the rest of the year.
