Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority Chairman Extols Tinubu’s Irrigation Farming Initiative

The Chairman of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority, Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for launching an irrigation farming scheme aimed at empowering youths in the region.

The initiative, which is part of the President’s broader agricultural development plans, has been hailed as a “noble and laudable” effort to promote youth empowerment and agricultural growth in Nigeria.

In a statement, the Sanusi expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu and his team for conceiving the initiative, which he believes has the potential to transform the agricultural sector in the region. Sanusi also praised the President’s commitment to agricultural development, describing him as the “Father of Modern-Day Nigeria in Agriculture” due to his “fantastic and lofty programs” in the sector.

The Sanusi’s comments come as a boost to the President’s administration, which has faced criticism in some quarters over its handling of the economy and other issues.

However, the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority Chairman Sanusi urged President Tinubu to remain committed to his vision, quoting Napoleon Hill’s famous phrase “Victory belongs to the most persevering” to emphasize the importance of perseverance in the face of challenges.

The irrigation farming initiative is seen as a key part of the President’s plans to diversify the economy and promote agricultural growth, particularly among young people. The scheme is expected to provide training and support to thousands of youths in the region, equipping them with the skills and resources needed to become successful farmers and entrepreneurs.

While some critics have raised concerns about the implementation and funding of the initiative, the Sanusi’s endorsement is likely to give the scheme a significant boost. The Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority is a key stakeholder in the region’s agricultural sector, and its support for the initiative is seen as a vote of confidence in the President’s vision for agricultural development.

As the scheme gets underway, all eyes will be on the President and his team to see how they will deliver on their promises and ensure the long-term success of the initiative. With the Sanusi’s backing, however, it seems that the President’s irrigation farming scheme is off to a strong start, and could potentially make a significant impact on the lives of thousands of young people in the region.
