You are A Hypocrite, Seyi Law Blasts P-Square for Not Supporting Tinubu’s Government

Nigerian comedian, Seyi Law has launched a scathing attack on music duo P-Square, accusing them of hypocrisy for not supporting President Bola Tinubu’s government.

In a recent interview with media personality Teju BabyFace, Seyi Law criticized P-Square for their inconsistent stance on politics, particularly with regards to their past support for former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Seyi Law pointed out that P-Square had performed at Buhari’s inauguration in 2015, singing their hit song “E No Easy”. However, when Tinubu became the president, the duo suddenly became vocal critics of the APC government.

Seyi Law argued that this sudden change of heart was hypocritical, especially considering that P-Square had previously benefited from their association with the APC.

Seyi Law also addressed the argument that some of his colleagues had made, that they would have supported Tinubu if he had chosen former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate.

Seyi Law dismissed this claim as a convenient excuse, pointing out that Osinbajo is also a Yoruba man and that the criticism of Tinubu was not based on any principled opposition to his policies, but rather on a personal dislike for the president.

Seyi Law’s criticism of P-Square is not unfounded, given the duo’s history of inconsistent politics. In 2023, they openly supported Peter Obi and performed at the Labour Party’s campaign rally. This sudden switch in allegiance has raised questions about the duo’s motivations and their commitment to any particular political ideology.

Seyi Law, on the other hand, has been an outspoken supporter of Tinubu’s government, despite facing criticism from his colleagues and online trolls. He has argued that his support for the president is based on his belief in Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria, and that he is not swayed by the opinions of others.

The controversy surrounding Seyi Law’s criticism of P-Square highlights the complex and often fraught relationship between politics and entertainment in Nigeria. It also raises questions about the role of celebrities in shaping public opinion and their responsibility to be consistent in their political views. As the debate continues, one thing is clear: Seyi Law’s comments have sparked a necessary conversation about the intersection of politics and entertainment in Nigeria.
