Tinubu’s Absence at Sangodele’s Burial Sends Tongues Wagging About Actual Family

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s failure to attend the burial ceremony of his brother, Pa Oladejo Sangodele, has sparked controversy and raised suspicions about his actual family background.

According to a source close to the Sangodele family, Tinubu deliberately avoided the ceremony to prevent drawing attention to his family ties.

The source, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the matter, confirmed that President Tinubu and the late Pa Sangodele were indeed brothers.

The source revealed that Tinubu is the last child of the family and was taken to Lagos by Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, where his name was changed and he was raised.

The Sangodele family, who reside in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, had gathered to bid farewell to their beloved patriarch, Pa Oladejo Sangodele. However, the absence of President Tinubu, who is reportedly a brother to the deceased, was conspicuous.

According to the source, Tinubu’s actual surname is Sangodele, and he is indeed from Iragbiji, as many people have long suspected.

The source explained that after settling in Lagos, Tinubu later brought Adegboyega Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State governor, to join him.

Oyetola, who is the son of the first child of Tinubu’s mother, was raised and mentored by Tinubu, who also sponsored his education and marriage.

“Tinubu’s relationship with Oyetola is more than just a mentor-mentee relationship,” the source revealed. “Oyetola is like a nephew to Tinubu, and their bond is rooted in family ties. When Tinubu returned from exile in the 90s, he was impressed by how Oyetola had managed his interests and assets, which further strengthened their relationship.”

Meanwhile, Engineer Olalekan AbdulRahman, Executive Director at the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, took to social media to announce his attendance at the Christian Wake held in honor of the late Pa Akanbi Oladejo and Mama Moradeke Adesola Sangodele. AbdulRahman revealed that he joined his mentor and boss, Oyetola, to pay respects to the deceased, who was an uncle and father figure to Oyetola.

In his remarks, Oyetola described the late Pa Sangodele as a thoroughbred disciplinarian who would not compromise on anything he believed in. He prayed for the deceased to find rest with their creator.

The controversy surrounding President Tinubu’s family background has been a longstanding issue, with many questioning the accuracy of his official biography. The biography focuses on his political journey from Lagos, where he was raised by Alhaja Mogaji, but makes no mention of his family ties to Iragbiji or the Sangodele family.

As the news of President Tinubu’s absence from his brother’s burial continues to spread, many are left wondering why he would choose to distance himself from his family and his roots. The presidency has yet to comment on the matter, fueling speculation and raising more questions about the president’s family background.
