Tinubu Committed to Passing Leadership Baton to Next Generation, Says Jandor

The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to handing over the mantle of leadership to the next generation of Nigerians.

Jandor stated this while speaking at a political forum in Lagos, where he acknowledged Tinubu’s efforts in mentoring young leaders and providing them with opportunities to serve in key positions across various levels of government.

According to him, Tinubu has consistently shown a deliberate interest in youth empowerment and leadership development, which is critical for the future of Nigeria’s democracy.

“President Tinubu has shown through his political journey and recent appointments that he is intentional about grooming the next generation,” Jandor said. “His legacy includes not just leadership, but also the ability to raise new leaders who will carry the baton forward.”

Jandor emphasized the need for established political figures to emulate this model, adding that preparing young people for leadership roles is essential for national growth, stability, and innovation.

He also urged Nigerian youths to position themselves through education, civic participation, and constructive engagement, in order to take full advantage of the opportunities being created.

Jandor’s comments have stirred conversations among political observers, especially given the historic rivalry between the PDP and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). However, his remarks were seen by many as a non-partisan acknowledgment of the importance of generational leadership transition.

The former PDP candidate concluded by reiterating his call for inclusive governance and the need to bridge generational gaps in politics, noting that the future of the country depends on the readiness of the younger generation to lead.
