Anambra Lawmaker Empowers 2,000 Constituents in Major Grassroots Initiative

The Member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Paschal Agbodike, has empowered over 2,000 constituents across several communities in Anambra State.

The program, which took place over the weekend, featured the distribution of various empowerment items valued at millions of naira. Beneficiaries received laptops with printers, sewing machines, grinding machines, educational materials, and bags of rice. In addition, Siena buses were donated to local vigilante groups to enhance community security.

This marks the seventh edition of Dr. Agbodike’s empowerment series, which he said is in line with the developmental agenda of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

“We are committed to grassroots empowerment and economic self-sufficiency,” Agbodike stated during the event. “This is not a political gesture, but a sincere effort to lift people out of poverty and give them the tools they need to thrive.”

The event attracted notable political figures and community leaders, including Chief Surplus Ewuzie, Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Anambra South Senatorial District, who described the initiative as “mind-blowing” and a testament to responsive leadership.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and pledged to make good use of the items. Mr. Lotanna Agbasiere, a recipient of a laptop and printer, said the tools would help him start a printing business. Another beneficiary, Mrs. Nkemdilim Okonkwo, who received a sewing machine, said it would enable her to support her family financially.

This empowerment effort adds to a growing wave of community-based initiatives across Anambra. In recent months, Senator Victor Umeh empowered farmers in Anambra Central with livestock and farming inputs, while First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu supported over 200 farmers in the state with training and agricultural tools.

With programs like these gaining momentum, Anambra State continues to set a pace for grassroots development in Nigeria.
