Trump to Visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE Mid-May

President Donald Trump is scheduled to embark on a diplomatic tour of the Middle East from May 13 to May 16, 2025, with planned visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This trip marks his second foreign visit since returning to office and aims to strengthen economic and geopolitical ties with key Gulf nations.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the tour is intended to “strengthen ties” with these Middle Eastern countries, which have recently supported U.S. diplomatic efforts, particularly in facilitating ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine and Gaza.
A central focus of the trip is the finalization of investment agreements.
President Trump has indicated that Saudi Arabia has agreed to invest approximately $1 trillion into the U.S. economy over the next four years, encompassing sectors such as military equipment and infrastructure. Similar economic deals are anticipated with Qatar and the UAE, aiming to bolster job creation and economic growth in the United States.
Beyond economic discussions, the president’s itinerary includes bilateral meetings with regional leaders to address pressing international issues. Topics are expected to cover the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, as well as the potential expansion of the Abraham Accord.
While the U.S. administration is keen on encouraging Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with Israel, Saudi officials have expressed reservations due to the current situation in Gaza.
This upcoming visit follows President Trump’s planned attendance at Pope Francis’ funeral in Italy later this week. The Middle East tour underscores the administration’s commitment to reinforcing alliances and fostering economic partnerships in the region.
