APC Chieftain, Uba Michael Demands Federal Appointments’ Inclusivity

As Christians in Nigeria observed the Easter holiday with prayers and reflection, an APC chieftain and Niger Delta leader, Uba Michael, has called on the federal government to be inclusive in its appointments in order to foster national unity and sense of belonging.

In an Easter festival goodwill message, Michael underscored the importance of fair representation in federal appointments in bolstering democracy and ushering peace between Nigeria’s diverse ethnic and regional groups.

This year reminds us of the importance of love, sacrifice, and hope,” he stated. “It is also the time for our leaders to review how policies, especially political appointments, can be more inclusive and representative of all parts of the country.”.

Michael, who has been vocal on Niger Delta matters and national development in general, noted that all geopolitical zones are deserving of equal consideration when it comes to the allocation of key government positions. He further noted that inclusiveness will not only deepen government trust but also enhance national stability.

“Inclusiveness in federal appointments is not political, but moral,” he went on. “When all parts are brought along, we diffuse ethnic tension and establish a stronger national bond.”

The APC leader restated his allegiance to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his “Renewed Hope” programme, and challenged the President to ensure that federal appointments align with the government’s promise of equity and unity.

He also encouraged Tinubu’s thus far attempts to address fundamental economic and security challenges, adding that inclusive governance would serve to increase public confidence in the vision of the government.

Drawing inspiration from the religious significance of Easter, Uba Michael encouraged Nigerians to stay optimistic and committed to building a better country. He appealed to citizens to utilize the season as a time to reflect on common values and responsibilities.

“Easter is hope, sacrifice, and rebirth. Let us take lesson from this season to work towards one people, regardless of tribe, religion, or region,” he stated.

Michael concluded his Easter message with prayers for peace and prosperity for Nigeria, calling on citizens to support the efforts of the government at national development.

His statement adds to the swelling calls for inclusive leadership, particularly as there are increased calls for political change, regional balance, and national reconciliation in Nigeria.
