‘No More Kids for Now,’ Declares Davido as Wife Chioma Sees through Plans to Take Big Career Milestones

Nigerian music superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, declared that he and wife Chioma Rowland are shelving plans to expand their family as Chioma sets her eyes on embarking on big career milestones.
During a candid chat on the latest Ride Along With Darryl episode, Davido spoke about their family life and Chioma’s aspirations beyond the home.
The Afrobeats icon revealed that the couple has mutually decided to discontinue producing more children to give Chioma space and time to invest in her passion ventures.
“I don’t want more children now. Me and my wife are taking a break. She needs to get out to work. She wants to do a lot of things like opening her restaurant and launching her spices,” Davido said.
“I feel she deserves a couple of years off after having three kids.”
Chioma, who recently gave birth to twins—a boy and a girl—with Davido in 2023, has largely remained low-key since the untimely death of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.
Today, she is gradually returning to the spotlight with ambitious plans to venture into the culinary and lifestyle space, including a forthcoming restaurant and a line of signature spices.
Reports say that Chioma has been spending time abroad preparing for the roll-out of her brand, as Davido has shown unflinching support for her ambition. He stated that empowerment and balance were key in their relationship, saying that Chioma should have space to chase her ambitions to the fullest.
“She’s supported me through so much. Now it’s her time,” he added.
Supporters and fans have commended the couple’s actions, terming it as a positive step in appreciating Davido’s openness and supportive nature to his wife’s career aspirations. It has been seen as a progressive action that highlights the need for both parties to grow in their relationship.
As Chioma embarks on her next journey, fans impatiently await her official brand launch, hoping her businesses will make a good impact in Nigeria’s new culinary and lifestyle market.
