Ligue 1 Season Within Reach as PSG Extend Unbeaten Run with 2-1 Victory Over Le Havre

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) moved closer to achieving an unbeaten Ligue 1 season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Le Havre at Parc des Princes on Saturday.
PSG took further strides toward achieving a record-breaking clean sweep in France’s top football league as they marched towards a historic milestone.
The Parisians, who have already won their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 crown, are now comfortably placed on top of the league table on 77 points.
They boast 24 victories and 5 draws this term and are mind-boggling 24 points clear of runners-up AS Monaco.
Despite nine alterations to the starting line-up following their midweek Champions League semi-final qualification, PSG continued in their dominant vein of form. The match saw the home team seal an early goal in the 8th minute through Desire Doue, who calmly slotted the ball into the net following a well-worked team move.
PSG’s dominance also extended into the second half as Goncalo Ramos doubled the advantage for them in the 56th minute with a clinical strike.
Le Havre fought back and managed to score one back in the 60th minute through Issa Soumare, who finished a rebound inside the penalty box. The visitors’ revival was short-lived as PSG maintained their composure and left the remaining time to secure all three points.
The win is PSG’s 10th consecutive Ligue 1 victory and puts them firmly on course to complete a feat that no team has ever done in the history of the competition — a completely unbeaten season.
For Le Havre, the defeat leave them precariously in 16th position, just three points ahead of the relegation playoff spot. The club will be hoping for a quick turnaround in their remaining matches to avoid relegation.
With only five games left to be played, PSG’s record of remaining unbeaten is now seriously at risk. Their next match is against OGC Nice, then against Strasbourg, Montpellier, and AJ Auxerre. If they continue to do well, the Parisians will achieve history as the first team in Ligue 1 history to complete a season without being defeated.
This new win reiterates PSG’s dominance over French football and their quest to achieve a near-perfect season under manager Luis Enrique. The club will be looking to etch history as they finish an impeccable Ligue 1 season, adding yet another to their growing list of accomplishments.
