Francisca Ordega Is Saudi Women’s Premier League Player of the Month

Nigerian striker Francisca Ordega has been named the Saudi Women’s Premier League Player of the Month for February/March 2025, following a run of exceptional performances for Al-Ittihad Ladies.

The award, as announced by the league and SportinglifeNg, is in recognition of Ordega’s outstanding impact since her switch to the Saudi club in January. She has added energy and creativity to the team, playing an enormous part in Al-Ittihad’s revival of fortunes.

Ordega did not waste time in making her mark as she scored one goal and two assists in her first games. The best of them was when she scored two crucial assists in Al-Ittihad’s 3-0 victory over Al-Amal, ending the club’s four-game losing streak. Her vision, pace, and intelligence on the pitch have seen her regularly featured in the Saudi Women’s Premier League Team of the Week.

The former Paris FC and CSKA Moscow forward has also formed a fine rapport with compatriot and club skipper Ashleigh Plumptre. The Nigerian duo have collectively become central to Al-Ittihad’s recent form, with fans and pundits commending their chemistry and leadership on the pitch.

Ordega’s latest award puts her in the spotlight again for Saudi Arabian women’s football, where she has been on the rise, and also in the Super Falcons camp as they face upcoming international games.

Her Player of the Month award is not only an individual honor but a testament to the growing global impact of Nigerian female footballers.
