Edo Govt Backs Bendel Insurance with Promises, Cash Boost Ahead of Nasarawa United Showdown

As Bendel Insurance FC gears up for a vital Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) showdown against Nasarawa United, the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Desmond Enabulele, has thrown his weight behind the team, urging them to stay focused and committed to their winning path.

Speaking during a morale-boosting visit to the team’s training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Enabulele praised the players for their dedication and hard work throughout the season. He reminded them that they are not just representing themselves but carrying the hopes of millions of Edo people.

“This is more than a game,” Enabulele said. “It’s about pride, legacy, and showing that Edo State remains a force in Nigerian football. We are with you every step of the way.”

He assured the team of improved welfare and reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing outstanding bonuses and allowances. Enabulele emphasized that the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki remains fully invested in the growth of sports across the state, especially football.

In a further show of support, Edo State APC Chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe, recently redeemed a $3,000 pledge made to the team a reward initially promised for a win against Nasarawa United, despite the team’s 2-1 loss in that encounter. Tenebe said his gesture was meant to motivate the team ahead of their upcoming fixtures and boost morale during a critical stretch of the season.

Bendel Insurance, known for its passionate fan base and rich football history, will be looking to bounce back and secure all three points against a determined Nasarawa United side. The match is seen as pivotal in the club’s campaign to climb higher on the league table.

With renewed confidence, support from government and party stakeholders, and a burning desire to succeed, Bendel Insurance is set to approach the game with renewed energy and unity.

Fans and supporters are expected to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team on, as the Benin Arsenal looks to make a strong statement in the NPFL this weekend.
