Kaduna Refinery Achieves 81.1% Completion

Kaduna, Nigeria – The Kaduna Refinery has marked a significant achievement, with its rehabilitation project now 81.1% complete, according to Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
This progress is a key step in the federal government’s initiative to revitalize Nigeria’s major refineries and lessen the country’s dependence on imported fuel.
In a press briefing today, Ahmed conveyed optimism about the project’s progress, affirming it is on schedule to meet its deadlines. He emphasized the government’s dedication to making the refinery fully operational soon, which will enhance local refining capabilities and bolster energy security.
Once fully restored, the Kaduna Refinery is expected to play a crucial role in satisfying the domestic fuel supply and revitalizing regional industrial activities.
Ahmed assured the public that the project is being executed with strict adherence to international standards and highlighted that reaching 81.1% completion reflects the commitment and expertise involved in this vital national asset. “We are on track to deliver a functional refinery that will cater to Nigeria’s energy needs and reduce our dependence on imports,” he stated. Experts anticipate that restoring the refinery will significantly help stabilize fuel prices and lower transportation expenses for moving refined products from coastal facilities to inland areas.
