Government declares Thursday, Friday, Monday work-free days

The Benue State Government has declared three days as work-free days for civil servants in the state to celebrate Easter.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government,
Serumun Aber said, “in recognition of the significance of the Easter Triduum to the Christian community in Benue State.

“The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants.”

The decision, according to the statement is to enable civil servants to participate fully in the sacred celebrations and observances of the Easter Triduum, which holds deep spiritual significance for Christians around the world.

“The Governor extends his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.

“May we emerge from this period of reflection and celebration rejuvenated and strengthened in our faith and service to humanity and a determination for a greater Benue”, the statement read in parts.
