Tinubu in France for Working Visit , Not Medicals, Clarifies Bwala

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, has denied speculations that President Bola Tinubu is in France for medical treatment but clarified that he was there on working visit.

According to Bwala, the President’s visit to France is, in fact, a working visit, aimed at reviewing the progress of ongoing reforms and engaging in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary.

“The president did not go to see a doctor; he’s on a working visit and we have been publishing his activities,” Bwala emphasized.

President Tinubu departed Nigeria on April 2, 2025, for Paris, France, on a short work visit, as announced by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga. A video shared by the Presidency showed the President greeting top government officials before boarding the presidential aircraft, further contradicting claims of a medical emergency.

Onanuga had earlier stated that the President’s visit to France is an opportunity for him to take a step back, assess the progress made by his administration, and plan for the future.

“The President would use the retreat to review the progress of ongoing reforms and engage in strategic planning ahead of his administration’s second anniversary,” he said.

Bwala’s comments come as a response to the numerous speculations and rumors that have been circulating on social media, with some users claiming that the President’s visit to France is a result of a medical emergency.

However, Bwala was quick to dismiss these claims, stating that “sometimes on social media, somebody will be tweeting, you don’t even know who the person is; it can be somebody who has mental health somewhere. You just see that information is coming out.”

The Presidential aide’s statement has been seen as a reassurance to the Nigerian public, who have been eagerly following the President’s activities.

With the President expected to return to the country by April 16, 2025, Nigerians can rest assured that their leader is working tirelessly to ensure the continued progress and development of the nation.

As the speculation surrounding the President’s visit to France continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the Nigerian government is committed to transparency and accountability, and will not hesitate to set the record straight in the face of baseless rumors and speculation.
