Mutfwang Toirs Attacked Plateau Communities, Expresses Grief

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State on Saturday visited several communities in the Bokkos Local Government Area that were recently attacked by bandits.
The governor expressed deep sorrow at the level of destruction and loss of life he witnessed.
“When I stood at the mass grave site in Bokkos, I felt the full weight of what we have lost,” Governor Mutfwang stated, according to reports from TheCable.
He promised the affected communities that a memorial would be erected to honor those who were unjustly killed, ensuring their memory would not be forgotten.
During his visit to St. Thomas Apostle Catholic Church, which is providing shelter to displaced residents, Governor Mutfwang commended the resilience of the people. “I saw courage in the eyes of the displaced. I thank the church for being a sanctuary, and I commit that you will not remain displaced for long. Help is on the way,” he assured them.
The governor announced that he has directed security agencies and local authorities to begin a thorough documentation of all land and property in the affected areas to ensure fair resettlement and prevent injustice. He urged the people to remain strong, emphasizing that Plateau State would recover through resilience, faith, and unity, not through violence or fear.
Governor Mutfwang also reiterated his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his concern and efforts to end the cycle of attacks in the state.
He called on the youth to reject criminal activities and unite to defend their communities.
Earlier, the district head of Manguna, Raymond Alo, thanked the governor for his visit and for the provision of relief materials. He appealed to the state government for building materials to help those whose homes were destroyed to rebuild.
Reports indicate that over 40 people were killed and hundreds of houses destroyed when gunmen attacked several communities in the Manguna District on April 2nd.
