Criminals Cart Away NSA Ribadu’s Office Hilux During Juma’at Prayer in Abuja

In a shocking and brazen act of theft, a group of criminals made away with a Hilux vehicle belonging to the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), during Friday’s Juma’at prayer in Abuja.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at around 1:30 pm, when many Muslims had gathered for the congregational prayer, leaving the streets relatively empty. The thieves, who seemed to have been monitoring the area, struck during this period of reduced activity, making off with the Hilux vehicle.

The vehicle, which was parked outside Ribadu’s office, was said to have been stolen in broad daylight, with no signs of forced entry or struggle.

The thieves were reportedly seen driving away in the vehicle, leaving behind a trail of confusion and outrage.

The police have launched an investigation into the theft, and efforts are being made to recover the stolen vehicle. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has assured the public that it is doing everything possible to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“We are taking this incident very seriously, and we are working tirelessly to recover the stolen vehicle and bring the perpetrators to book,” said a spokesperson for the FCT Police Command. “We urge anyone with information about the theft to come forward and assist us in our investigation.”

The theft of the Hilux vehicle has sparked widespread condemnation from Nigerians, who are calling for greater efforts to combat crime and corruption in the country. Many have taken to social media to express their outrage and demand that the government take decisive action to address the security challenges facing the nation.

“This is a brazen act of theft, and it’s a slap in the face of our security agencies,” said one Twitter user. “How can a vehicle be stolen in broad daylight, and nothing is done about it? It’s time for our government to take action and ensure that our country is safe and secure for all citizens.”

The incident has also raised questions about the level of security provided to public officials and their offices. It highlights the need for adequate security measures, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and security personnel, to protect public property and prevent such incidents in the future.

The Nigerian government has promised to take measures to improve security in the capital city and prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. The government has also assured the public that it will do everything possible to recover the stolen vehicle and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The police have released a statement confirming the theft of the Hilux vehicle and assuring the public that they are doing everything possible to recover the vehicle and apprehend the perpetrators.

“We are working closely with other security agencies to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen vehicle,” said the statement. “We urge anyone with information about the theft to come forward and assist us in our investigation.”

The police have also appealed to the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Reacting to the incident, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu expressed shock and disappointment at the theft. “I am shocked and disappointed by this brazen act of theft,” he said. “I urge the police to do everything possible to recover the stolen vehicle and bring the perpetrators to justice.”

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation from Nigerians, who are calling for greater efforts to combat crime and corruption in the country. c
