APC Closes Abuja Office After Death of Adeniyi, Director of Administration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the closure of its national secretariat located at No. 40, Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, following the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Hon. Lateef AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji.

According to a memo dated April 10, 2025, and signed by the Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagba Abel, the closure is to allow staff and party members to mourn the passing of Adeniji, who was reportedly kidnapped about two months ago in Abuja.

Sources close to the party have revealed that despite the payment of a N50 million ransom, Adeniji’s life was tragically cut short. The news has sent shockwaves throughout the party, with many members expressing their condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.

The memo, titled “Secretariat Closure for the Mourning of the Director of Administration,” advises all staff to use the period of mourning for sober reflection and prayers for the family and loved ones of Adeniji.

“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday, April 14, 2025,” the memo reads. “This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration, Late Hon. AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji.”

The closure of the secretariat is a significant development, as it brings all party activities to a standstill. The APC has urged all members to respect the period of mourning and to pray for the soul of the departed director.

The APC has promised to issue a statement in due course, providing more details about the circumstances surrounding Adeniji’s death. For now, the party has asked for privacy and respect as they mourn the loss of one of their own.
