2Baba’s Fiancée, Natasha Osaworu’s Introduction Stirs Controversy in Edo Assembly

Oo it

There was a stunning moment of laughter at a plenary session in the Edo State House of Assembly as Natasha Osaworu shared her fiancée’s secret as her maiden name:

“Honourable Natasha Irobosa Osaworu, née Idibia.” The revelation elicited immediate laughter from her colleagues, given her infamous association with 2Baba, whose original name is Innocent Ujah Idibia.

As a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member and member of parliament for the Egor constituency, the arrival of Osaworu was welcomed with enthusiasm, showcasing people’s fascination with her connection to 2Baba.

The musician had made public that he had separated from Annie Idibia in January and had also confirmed dating Osaworu, having proposed to her in February.

Osaworu’s personal life has been making headlines since she made her relationship with 2Baba public. Her removal as minority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly on Monday has also taken center stage, after a shift in the party’s majority status saw four PDP lawmakers decamp to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The expulsion of the legislator together with Charity Aiguobarueghian and Yekini Idaiye is a significant change in the state’s politics. Osaworu’s declaration of herself as Idibia has stirred up controversy, however, with everyone wondering about the implications of her taking 2Baba’s surname as her maiden name.
