Rivers Sole Administrator Appoints Local Government Administrators Despite Restraining Court Order
Despite a court order restraining him from doing so, Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), has appointed administrators for all 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
The move comes less than 24 hours after Justice Adam Muhammed of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt issued the restraining order.
The Administrator also approved the reinstatement of previously suspended boards for various state agencies, commissions, and parastatals.
A statement released by the Administrator’s office confirmed the decision, stating that Vice Admiral Ibas has “approved the appointments of administrators for the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State” and the “reconstitution of some boards of agencies, commissions, and parastatals, earlier suspended.”
Among those appointed are Mr. Okroiyobi Animete for Abua/Odual LGA, Mr. Goodluck M. Iheanacho for Ahoada East LGA and Mr. Promise Jacob for Ahoada West LGA. A full list of appointees is provided below.
