Progressives Governors Visit Buhari in Kaduna, Discuss Future of Party

All Progressives Congress (APC) State governors under the Progressives Governors Forum have visited former president Muhammadu Buhari at his Kaduna residence in what political watchers say is a solidarity move to show the party is not divided as they march towards 2027.

Led by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodinma, the delegation of governors from various states, including Gombe, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Edo, Kogi, Ondo, Ekiti, and Benue, among others, converged on Kaduna to pay their respects to the former President.

The visit was also an opportunity for the governors to extend Sallah greetings to Buhari, congratulating him on completing the Ramadan fast and wishing him well as he settles into his newly renovated Kaduna home.

This gesture was seen as a symbol of the party’s continued appreciation for Buhari’s leadership and legacy, which has had a lasting impact on the APC and the country as a whole.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, who hosted the delegation, played a key role in facilitating the visit, highlighting the importance of the occasion and the significance of Buhari’s contributions to the party.

The governors, in their remarks, expressed gratitude for Buhari’s tireless efforts in shaping the party’s ideology and his ongoing influence as a father figure and statesman within the APC.

The visit also served as a reminder of Buhari’s enduring legacy, which continues to inspire and guide the party’s vision for Nigeria’s development. As a unifying figure, Buhari’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the party’s agenda, and his commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability has set a high standard for the party’s members to follow.

The APC governors’ visit to Buhari’s residence was also seen as a strategic move to reaffirm their commitment to the party’s core values and principles, which have been instrumental in driving Nigeria’s progress and development.

By paying their respects to the former President, the governors demonstrated their appreciation for his selfless service to the nation and their dedication to building on the foundations laid during his tenure.

In the broader context, the visit highlights the significance of leadership and legacy in shaping the trajectory of political parties and nations. Buhari’s legacy, in particular, serves as a testament to the power of visionary leadership and the importance of leaving a lasting impact on the political landscape.

As the APC continues to navigate the complexities of Nigerian politics, the visit serves as a reminder of the party’s commitment to upholding the principles of good governance, accountability, and transparency, which have been the hallmark of Buhari’s leadership.
