Nothing Impressed me to live in the US

I went to Europe to do something briefly. Instead of returning to Nigeria, I decided to reroute my trip to the U.S. because I was told that if I didn’t use my visa this time, I shouldn’t come back to their embassy after wasting several visas. I wasn’t sure if the interviewer meant it but passed by to use the visa.
Anyways , I called some friends, and they were super excited to see me.
When I told Homeland Security at the airport that I was staying for 3 days, they asked me to wait for further searching. [ I know why , anyways]
On the first day, I stayed at the Westin, ATL. I would come down and walk around, trying to see what the big deal was about this “Almighty” country, hoping to catch a glimpse of an angel talking to humans or a tree sprouting forth money on the floor .
The next day, all my friends arrived, insisting that I shouldn’t go back. Lol, me? Wey love my Africa di3.
Anyways, I was forced to change my ticket for an extra week. So, we all decided to visit a few more states just to be convinced in case I changed my mind to relocate.
I went to Houston, stayed a few days, and then went to Baltimore, Maryland.
On the ninth day in America, I was almost going crazy. In fact, I had to lie that there’s an emergency back home and ran away .
The moment I traveled and arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport and the car dropped me home .
I took a shower, came outside, jumped on the bike , straight to the Amala joint . 🤷
All the parties and outings in those places were not going down with me . The fake accents , the show offs , trying to impress me , the big houses , the competition, the struggle of identity, the anxiety, the worry to meet up with so much stuff, the mortgage cars , mentioning plenty of figures, no spirit of community and neighborhood, you will struggle not to encroach in a neigbour’s private life , fake smiles . I was just tired joor
I won’t say visiting America impressed me , people are just hiding inside their neat sleeves , there’s a whole lot going on with these folks
Anyways, there could practically be 3-4 things that truly impress me in life ,
– Your Love for God
– Your intentions towards humanity.
– The impartation and level of knowledge.
Nothing has impressed me after all these years apart from these three things I mentioned, I am hopeful to add more to the list but definitely not things like visiting America.
Goodmorning
