Any Law Abiding Citizen who Lives with us Peacefully is an Indigene of Abia, Says Otti

Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti has explained that explained that already in the state, anyone who lives peacefully for a while and performs civic responsibilities is a citizen of the state.
To him, there is no need for a law specifying that as it was already operational and without discrimination in the state.
Otti attributed the recent surge in violence and discrimination in the country to a lack of understanding and appreciation for the equality of all human beings.
According to him, if people truly understood that they were created equal by God, many of the problems plaguing the nation would cease to exist.
“I think it is the lack of understanding that makes people begin to kill each other and to discriminate.
If we understand clearly that God created us equally, then some of the problems we are seeing, we won’t see them. We would learn to live together in harmony and respect each other’s differences,” he explained.
Otti’s position comes at a time the country is grappling with rising tensions and conflicts along ethnic, religious, and regional lines.
The recent killings in Edo State, where innocent people were mistaken for kidnappers and attacked, have sparked widespread condemnation and calls for greater understanding and tolerance.
The governor emphasized that the lack of understanding and empathy is a major obstacle to building a harmonious and inclusive society and urged Nigerians to look beyond their differences and recognize their shared humanity, citing the biblical teaching that all humans are created in the image of God.
“When we understand that we are all equal in the eyes of God, we will begin to see each other as brothers and sisters, rather than as enemies or strangers.
“We will learn to appreciate our diversity and celebrate our unique experiences and perspectives, rather than trying to impose our own beliefs and values on others,” he asserted.
Otti’s message of unity and understanding has resonated with many Nigerians, who are calling for an end to the violence and discrimination that has plagued the country for too long. As the nation struggles to come to terms with its differences and find a path towards peace and reconciliation,
His words serve as a timely reminder of the importance of empathy, compassion, and understanding.
