Yobe Police Pledges Enhanced Security, Extends Eid-el-Fitr Wishes

Yobe State Police Commissioner, CP Emmanuel Ado has pledged enhanced security during the celebrations across the state while extending Eid-el-Fitr wishes to the Muslim Ummah within the state who he urged to live in peace and harmony.
In line with the spirit of yuletide, CP Ado emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order in the period, citing that the police and other security organizations have put in place mechanisms to ensure public safety.
He assured the public that officers would be stationed at strategic locations in the state to prevent any form of disruption.
We are committed that all citizens, including our Muslim brothers and sisters, must be able to celebrate peacefully,” CP Ado said. “The police will be on the lookout, and we are in close coordination with other security agencies to make sure that there is no sort of unrest during the Eid celebrations.”.
Apart from the police, there are other security agencies in the state also taking proactive steps to protect all the residents. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), for example, has sent 500 men across the state to support the efforts of the police.
The security presence will be greatly visible in public places such as markets, mosques, and open spaces for Eid festivities.
The move is part of a broad effort to pre-empt any kind of breach and to make the residents feel secure enough to celebrate without interruption.
This pledge for peace and security comes in the wake of heightened fears in various parts of Nigeria, but the authorities in Yobe State will see to it that there is a safe environment for the Eid festivities.
CP Ado concluded his speech by urging citizens to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with security personnel, reiterating that the security of all citizens is paramount.
