CAN Felicitates With Muslims at Eid-el-Fitr

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has extended its warmest congratulations to the Muslim community in Nigeria on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
The CAN President, Rev. Samson Ayokunle, praised the Muslim faithful for their devotion and perseverance during the 30-day fasting period, saying it was a demonstration of their commitment to their faith.
“We felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr. We pray that the lessons and blessings of the holy month will continue to guide and direct them in their daily lives,” Rev. Ayokunle said.
However, the CAN President also used the opportunity to condemn the recent killings in Edo State, which he described as “senseless and barbaric.”
“We are deeply saddened by the reports of killings and violence in Edo State, particularly the attack on the Ogbona community, which resulted in the loss of several lives. We condemn this act of violence in the strongest terms and call on the authorities to bring the perpetrators to justice,” Rev. Ayokunle said.
The CAN President urged the government to take decisive action to address the security challenges facing the country, saying that the continued killings and violence were a threat to the unity and stability of Nigeria.
“We call on the government to take immediate action to address the security challenges facing our country. The continued killings and violence are a threat to our unity and stability, and we must not allow them to continue,” he said.
Rev. Ayokunle also called on Nigerians to continue to live in peace and harmony, regardless of their religious or ethnic differences.
