Senator Shehu Sani has expressed serious concern over the rising cases of men with prostate enlargement and cancer. In his recent visit to a hospital in Abuja, he was taken aback by the discovery that over 85% of the patients admitted were men above the age of 40 suffering from these complications.
Declaring the situation a “serious health emergency,” Senator Sani called for action and prompt attention to addressing this crisis. He noted that prostate health issues have become the country’s most critical issue with so many men diagnosed with enlargement or cancer at a level deemed alarming.
The Senator called on the government, medical practitioners, and the general public to accord prostate health awareness, knowledge, and screening the utmost priority to combat this rising epidemic.
He also called for increased funding and funds to finance research, treatment, and management of prostate-related disease patients.
