Midwifery Council Approves Graduate Intern Nursing Education Programme for Kwara State

As part of its efforts at enhancing the provision of healthcare services, the Government of Kwara State has gained the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) approval to initiate a graduate intern-nurse education program. Registry is the first in the state.
The training will be done at Sobi Specialist Hospital, Ilorin, and General Hospital, Offa. The exercise, state officials say, is designed to enhance service delivery and fill the gap in healthcare professionals.
The AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq government has been striving to reform the health sector in the state, with ongoing efforts to achieve accreditation for Medical Laboratory Scientists to ensure complete training of healthcare workers.
State officials have pointed out that the program is part of Kwara’s broader agenda of building a robust healthcare system, giving new nurses practical experience to deal with the growing demands of the profession.
