Akpabio Confident APC Will Win Kano in next Election

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed confidence that Kano State is firmly in the control of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election.

Akpabio made the assertion during a visit to the office of Senator Basheer Lado in the National Assembly, where he congratulated key APC stakeholders in Kano State, such as Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Senator Lado, who is President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Senate Matters.

To Akpabio, the party’s grip on Kano is ensured by the authority and political terrain established by these leaders. He commended their endeavours in ensuring seamless coordination of the Executive and the Legislature, which he described as being crucial to effective governance.

“Coordination and synergy between our party leaders in Kano are highly high. With this framework, APC is already set to win in 2027,” Akpabio stated.

He also cited Senator Lado’s contribution towards ensuring stealth and effective communication between the Executive and the Senate, pointing out that governance leaks would erode national security and enforcement of policy.

In his response, Senator Lado appreciated Akpabio’s leadership and reaffirmed his resolve to further deepen the Executive-Legislature relationship. He had addressed the Senate President as a statesman dedicated to national development and cohesion.

Akpabio’s declaration supports the APC’s strategic focus on Kano as one of its key battlefields in its bid to maintain its dominance in the political landscape of the nation ahead of the upcoming general elections.
