Breaking News: Fubara Neutralised as Rivers State Sole Administrator Sacks Political Appointees

Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has suspended all political appointees and office holders in the state.
This decision, announced on Wednesday, was made under the powers granted to Ibas by President Bola Tinubu.
The suspension affects a wide range of officials, including:
The Secretary to the State Government
The Chief of Staff
All commissioners
Chairpersons and members of boards, agencies, commissions, and parastatals
All Special Advisers, Special Assistants, and Senior Special Assistants
Affected officials are required to hand over their responsibilities to permanent secretaries in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies. In cases where there is no permanent secretary, they are to hand over to the most senior director or head of administration.
This action follows President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, which also resulted in the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
Vice-Admiral Ibas has stated his focus is on restoring law and order to the state.
The actions taken are due to political unrest within the state.
