You are Palpably Ignorant, Failed Politician, Bwala Carpets Obi

Presidential Media Adviser, Daniel Bwala has launched a stinging attack on former governor of Anambra State and standard bearer in last presidential election, Peter Obi, labeling him an “ignorant” and “failed politician”.
Bwala who dismissed Obi as a man who was busy “buying and selling” rather than fighting for democracy in Nigeria said he had no justification criticising those who had assisted in building democracy in the country.
The statement was in response to Mr. Obi’s recent comment that democracy has collapsed under the incumbent president. Mr. Bwala took to Twitter to express his indignation, questioning Mr. Obi’s understanding of democracy and his position in the country’s democratic struggle.
“It is a contradiction that losing politicians are trying to redefine democracy. @PeterObi declared democracy has broken down. Does he understand the definition of democracy? When people were fighting for democracy, Gregory was selling and purchasing,” Bwala fumed.
The presidential adviser also condemned Mr. Obi for allegedly calling for hate speech and venom against President Bola Tinubu and further stating that the former governor has no track record of democratic activism but specializes in dealing hate and venom.
Mr. Obi had earlier spoken at a colloquium in Abuja, where he likened the state of the nation to one that has collapsed like a building with nothing in working order.
He blamed the failure of democracy on the present administration, saying that they had taken the nation backwards.
If you look at where we are today, it’s as if they (the PDP) started in 1999; laid the foundation. Some people came and put decking, and some people were trying to take it to the first floor when some people came and took everything down. That is where we are today. Everything has been taken down, and nothing works,” Obi had stated.
Mr. Bwala’s outburst has attracted a firestorm on social media, with several Nigerians placing their two kobo on the issue. As some have defended Mr. Obi, so others have commend Mr. Bwala for calling out the former governor for his seeming hypocrisy.
As the war of words continues, it remains to be seen how Mr. Obi will respond to Mr. Bwala’s biting diatribe. In any case, one thing is clear: the war of words between the two politicians is far from over.
