Tinubu Flags off Construction Delta, Anambra Access Roads to 2nd Niger Bridge

 

President Bola Tinubu today officially flagged off the construction of the access road to the Second Niger Bridge, a crucial project that will enhance connectivity between Delta and Anambra states.

The ceremony took place at the bridge’s site, marked a major milestone in the federal government’s efforts to improve the country’s transportation network and stimulate economic growth in the region.

The access road, once completed, will provide a seamless link between the two states, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and services.

Speaking at the event, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it will not only improve the socio-economic lives of the people in the region but also have a positive impact on the nation’s economy as a whole.

“This project is a testament to our administration’s commitment to investing in critical infrastructure that will drive growth, create jobs, and improve the overall quality of life for Nigerians.
“The Second Niger Bridge is a vital artery that will connect the eastern part of the country to the rest of the nation, and we are determined to see it through to completion,” Tinubu said.

The access road, which has completed 18 months completion period, will be constructed by a reputable engineering firm and will be funded by the federal government.

The project is part of the government’s broader plan to upgrade the country’s transportation infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and highways.

The Second Niger Bridge is a 1.6-kilometer bridge across River Niger.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by top government officials, including the Minister of Works and Housing, the Governor of Delta State, and the Governor of Anambra State, among others.

With the commencement of the access road construction, the people of Delta and Anambra states can look forward to improved connectivity, increased economic opportunities, and a better quality of life. The project is a significant step towards achieving the federal government’s vision of a more integrated and prosperous Nigeria.
